Frontier Communications (NYSE: FTR) announced today that it has invested more than $5.5 million in Oregono and $5.2 million in Washington state since July 2010 to increase broadband availability and enhance network performance. As of March 31, 2011, these investments resulted in an additional 28,400 households and businesses in 42 communities across Oregon and Washington to have broadband availability.
In addition, the company has made major upgrades to create a state-of-the-art network that significantly increases capacity and enables customers to enjoy faster Internet speeds.

Frontier’s High-Speed Internet service is delivered on a dedicated line from the company’s central switching office to the customer’s home or business. The service is supported by local technicians and backed by live, 24/7, 100-percent U.S.-based customer service and technical support.
New residential customers ordering Frontier’s High-Speed Internet services are offered two-hour appointment windows. A trained technician will install a Frontier wireless router, connect the customer’s computer to the Internet and offer anyone interested basic instructions about how to access and navigate the web.
